Manifest Basics - Who we are

Socialist Labour Party gathers people of socialist belief in Croatia who fight for democratic socialism, social justice, ecologically sustainable development and full freedom of public, against discrimination and oppression, prejudice and economical exploitation.
The SLP wants to build the socialism of 21st century, a socialism free of bureaucratism, statist misuses and undemocratic tendencies that were present in the rudimentary form of socialism which appeared in underdeveloped agrarian countries in the 20th century.
Our goal as a socialist organization is the abolition of wage slavery , economical and political dependence of people and realisation of equality in production and distribution, equal opportunities in education and full accessibility of cultural goods. Government and the state must be in service of free people in a developed civil society.
The future socialist society will abolish social relations that reproduce the power of one class over another and all forms of human alienation. The SLP wants to be a part of world movement that fights for that society.
The future depends more on the full development of human potential and less on natural and other resources. This calls for a redefinition of democracy – from declarative to full and direct democracy, both political and economical.
The SLP follows the positive accomplishments of Socialist, Social-democratic, Communist, Christian-socialist and Green parties and movements of the World and especially of workers, trade-union and workers’ self-management movements in Croatia and former Yugoslavia.
The SLP has special respect for antifascist struggle of Croats and Serbs in Croatia, and other peoples of former Yugoslavia led by Communists and Josip Broz Tito in the WWII. We will fight all attempts to rehabilitate any form of fascism as well as attempts to revise history of period between 1941 and 1990.

The Socialist Labour Party stands for:
- social justice and political, social and economic democracy
- protection and improvement of all human rights and freedoms
- emancipation of Labour and workers' control over the products of their labour
- every man and women's right to work, right to be equal at work and right to decide on his/her workplace
- direct democracy and all possible forms of direct decision-making of citizens
- gender equality in all segments of society
- full protection of minority groups
- peace as a precondition of building a humane, nonviolent society
- preservation of environment, promotion of renewable energies

The SLP wants to be the force that will represent Labour in confrontations with the Capital and the political representative of the vast majority of society that works to survive.
The Party believes in free education and healthcare for the whole population.
We see Croatia as a decentralised federation of four historic Croatian lands: Croatia proper (Central Croatia), Slavonia, Dalmatia and Istria and a country that will be fully secularised and all religious communities will be equal.
Serbs, Bosniaks, Slovenians, Italians, Hungarians, Czechs, Slovaks, Roma, Rusyns, Ukrainians, Jews, Germans and Austrians should have special representation in the Croatian Parliament.
Everyone that had citizenship of Croatia as part of former Yugoslavia should be granted citizenship of the Republic of Croatia as well as everybody who was born in Croatia, who lives here for at least five years or is married to a citizen.
We strongly support the nullification of the process of privatization in Croatia.
